FOX Entertainment Sends YouTube Gaming Streamer Cease and Desist Letter... Because Zoidberg.

In a story covered by Kotaku, a streamer by the name Zoie Burgher got into some hot water over her use of a famous Futurama character in her streams.

Zoie; a popular gaming streamer on YouTube with close to 1 million subscribers, was threatened with a cease and desist letter, insisting that she stop using the Futurama character 'Zoidberg' in her streams, and social media accounts. According to the letter, which Burgher shared with Kotaku, Fox is claiming that its use
"creates consumer confusion because users encountering it will assume that Fox sponsors, endorses, or authorizes the use of the Fox IP or the content of your channel, when neither is true."
The letter claims that Burgher might have to pay statutory damages "up to $150,000 per copyright infringed," in addition to all profits from her videos, and Fox's Lawyer fees if she is prosecuted for copyright infringement.

Fox also demands that she “permanently remove all references to Futurama” from her social media accounts.
