New Killer Instinct Skin Pack Gold Plates Everything

No, this is not a ROM hack. The killer Instinct developers announced a  new skin pack on April 11, that basically turns some characters gold. no seriously, that's it.

The skin pack is available for $4.99, for Hisako, Spinal, and Kan Ra, and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store, for both the Xbox One and a PC with Windows 10.

The April skin pack will be the fourth of an ongoing series of re-skins, until all the characters have a gold alternate costume. The developers expect to be done with skin pack 5 some time in May, so if keeping your favorite Main's swag on point is important to you, but your favorite character doesn't have one available yet, just be patient, and eventually the devs will get around to it.

Killer Instinct was a popular arcade fighting game from the 90s, that experimented with early pre-rendered 3D graphics made using the legendary Indigo 2 3D rendering hardware. It has had a cult following that eclipses most other arcade fighters of that time period. When the Killer Instinct franchise was rebooted in 2013, it was met with critical acclaim, along with a lot of inevitable comparisons to the Mortal Kombat series.

Killer Instinct hasn't officially had a sequel since it was rebooted in 2013, but instead offers seasons that can be purchased to add characters, and modify the arcade mode of the game every year or so. In between the seasons, it offers paid DLC in order to keep the now 5-year-old game relevant.

Speaking, of DLC: Did you know that Rash from BattleToads is a playable character in the game?

Weird, right?
