The grassroots Indie developer Impact Gameworks has released their latest puzzle turn-based RPG on Steam.
Fresh off the staggering success of its dungeon crawler Taggledeep, Indie Developer and music composing legend Andrew Versa released Flowstone Saga; An RPG with a unique twist.
Matching blocks for initiative instead of rolling. |
Flowstone takes a unique approach to the RPG formula. Rather than rolling die for initiative, and hoping to get lucky, this RPG applies a mechanic where players use a Tetris mini-game in place of rolls, giving the player more control over the success of their character's abilities.
Story-heavy experience. |
In the whimsical and dangerous world of Ocean's end, you play as Miera - a heroine who's goal is to build her party and home, with the help of a bunch of friends she finds along the way. Build a social network in the town by helping your neighbors and friends in order to decorate and improve your neighborhood.
This game stands out with the unique ability to switch between Action RPG and turned-based RPG mechanics on the fly, with specific advantages and disadvantages, depending on your strategy. Victory depends not on your strength, but your strategy, and tactical acumen.
Yet another thing that stands out about this game is its music. The two developers -Andrew Aversa and Andrew Lauers are both musicians, with the former being a legendary video game music composer. Together, this game has some high-quality in-game music.
The game has the styling of a classic 16-bit console RPG. Players would feel right at home with its SNES-like graphics, and gameplay.
This game will be $14.39 - 20% off until October 3rd, so if you want to ad this game to your steam library, now is a good time. After that, this g
ame returns to its original price of 17.99.
