ProSteer Steering Wheel GamePad lets you Tilt and Bend the Controller

Just when you think motion controls were done bending and twisting, we get a KickStarter campaign for a six-axis Accelerator-based controller that you can fold sideways.

Wireless steering axis wheel-like controllers have existed since the early 2000's, but the ProSteer controller by BoxDark distinguishes itself from others by having what it calls "boxed arc" technology. Boxed Arc is just a fancy term for "The controller pivots and leans in your hand"; something currently no other controller does.

The project also supports things like active torque and haptic feedback; combining some of the best features from the best controllers on the market.

The controller is set to be the end-all controller for anyone looking to play video games on their PC or Android device, but the project seems ostensibly focused on racing features. Not only does it have a leaning function in the so-called "boxed arc" feature, but it even has special buttons for shifting gears to go with its 80 degrees of motion-controlled steering.

Yes, This is a button on the inner handle of each side of the controller. Apparently, you're supposed to use these as gear-shifts.

This project has features that give gamers a slight competitive edge in games like Racers, MOBAs or third-person shooters. According to BoxDark's ProSteer press release, this controller supports what they are calling "Analog steering via articulation", which is a fancy way of saying 'you can rotate the controller in mid-air to steer like you're driving a real car.' It even boasts features no one has ever heard of, like "Rapid Strafe-aiming via articulation" which is marketing-speak for 'you can lean the controller to strafe while you aim with the analog stick.'

If you want to turn some of the more unnecessary features off, this controller is set to support shutting some features down, via the three-mode switch at the center of the controller.

The ProSteer KickStarter campaign makes a lot of ballsy claims for a controller that hasn't been released yet, and promises to honor all $99-and up donations on its KickStarter campaign with a ProSteer controller in the color of their choice, once the device is finally released.

Legends speak of this controller having a USB type C port for charging. only time will tell if the prophecy will come to pass.
